Trade-ins

If you have something that you want to sell in order to buy another piece of gear then we should be able to get you the best price for your equipment.

Purchase

We purchase all types of gear whether or not you are buying anything. We do need to see the item before we can tell you what it is worth; we don’t provide quotes without having done a direct inspection. In order to purchase something we will need to see some photo ID and to have you confirm that you do own the item. We do not make cash purchases; checks are cut for all the gear we buy.

Why buy from us?

Although we are just a local store, we compete on price with all the major vendors. You should not find a lower advertised price anywhere else. But beyond this, we will allow you to try out any of the gear that we have (aside from harmonicas and kazoos, etc.) and work through until you find the sound that you are looking for. Our sales staff all play in local bands and they know the gear. They will be able to help you find what you are looking for because they have played the stuff. We know how things sound in combination and how to get the best out of individual bits of kit. Let us help you get the most bang for your buck.

Return policy

We take returns within five days of purchase provided the item is still in the same condition as when you purchased it. You will need your receipt as proof of purchase. Returns are for store credit only.

Payment

We take all major credit cards, MasterCard, Visa and American Express. We also accept payment via PayPal for goods being shipped to a confirmed PayPal address. We are set up to receive bank or wire transfers. (These are particularly useful where the purchased goods are being shipped to an address that is not linked to a credit card or PayPal account.) Of course, we are happy to take cash.

Consignment

If you can’t be bothered with listing your stuff on eBay or on Craig’s list, you can put your guitar up for sale at Ludlow Guitars. We will market the item in the store, list it on our web site and pay you once the item is sold. We will take a commission of between 20% and 30% on the sale depending on the item.

Shipping and international

With the exception of new products from certain brands (such as Fender, Guild, Gretsch, Squier) which we are only able to ship in the USA, we ship to most places in the world. We can provide you with a quick shipping quote on any item you are interested in purchasing. Please note that for international orders we only accept payment by bank/wire tansfer.
