Ludlow Guitars now offers professional guitar lessons on site in our rehearsal studio. Our two resident experts, Garrett V. Alarcon and Robert Johnston, teach to players of any level. Lesson plans are custom tailored to each student.

Garrett has played with various local bands, opening for some big acts like Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi, Megadeth and Ratt to name a few. During that period he became involved in recording and performance projects with Dave Murray of Iron Maiden and again with Cliff Williams of AC-DC. Garrett moved to Tokyo for two years under a teaching contract with the "Niibori Guitar Center" where he also played as a side man on numerous live gigs and jingles for television and radio. Garrett specializes in composition and arrangemnet, delta style rhythm and picking techniques, scales and soloing, and unlocking the bluesman within by exploring the pentatonics.

Robert began playing guitar at the age of 8 years old, studied music formally through grade school, and later majored in musical composition and performance at Wallace State College and the University of Montevallo. Robert is well versed in all styles of music including rock, jazz, blues, and classical. On top of being an accomplished songwriter he has been a full-time professional guitar instructor since 2007. Robert works out a lesson plan for each student that is custom tailored to his or her needs. His coaching will improve the areas of theory, technique, and repertoire, comnining them to bring you to the next level of playing.
