So this isn't an effect so much as it is a synthesis device. The lower row of knobs controls the tuning of three oscillators. The middle oscillator can be tuned down to a rhythmic popping, and all the way up to super high screeches. The outside oscillators have a more narrow range, but more precise tuning. the mix knobs operate directly upon the oscillator below them. however, you will notice that when one is turned "wide open" the other oscillators will drop in volume. This really is an instrument in its own right. It will take a little bit of working with to get the great sounds you are looking for. But while you are finding them it will run you through a whole bunch of great sounds that you weren't looking for.
