The newest Swift, the Gryphon high-unison 12-string, has already made waves as a fascinating new style of guitar with a wide range of applications. This 18.5" scale guitar, which is tuned to D, almost one octave higher than a regular guitar, is strung with mandolin-like unison pairs. These doubled strings provide incredible punch and cut, with amazing and complex high overtones that bring to mind instruments like the tres, cuatro, and bouzouki.

This particular example has a wonderful walnut top, a single humbucking pickup and dead-simple controls making for a guitar that feels immediately familiar and comfortable. The contoured body shape is curved from edge to edge. The body is poplar and the fingerboard, bridge and tailpiece wenge. The Swift retains the classic Veillette bolt-on neck joint, using a steel machine bolt for long, clean sustain, rugged roadworthiness, and easy maintenance.

The Swift is a crisp, responsive, and lively sounding guitar. Chords remain clear and distinct, and the strong midrange works beautifully with overdriven amps.
