FenderĀ® Musicmaster 1978, White - Sold

The Musicmaster bass (a variant of the two-pickup Mustang bass) was introduced in the mid-60's and originally marketed as a student model. Rather than the split-coil design of the Mustang, it featured a single-coil pickup, which was actually a 6-pole Stratocaster guitar pickup under a solid plastic cover. Production ceased around the same time as the Mustang in 1981.

This instrument has a short 30" scale with one tone and volume control. It is completely original and, as you can see from the many detailed pictures, it still has the bridge cover. This guitar has been played, and played and has all the marks to prove it. But the neck is straight and it plays well. It has the vintage Fender sound, warm and rich, but more toppy than a Precision or Jazz Bass.
