Peter FloranceĀ® Junior, Natural - Used

Before his highly acclaimed line of hand-wound Voodoo pickups really took off, Peter was a luthier building a line of electric guitars, both his own brand models and some highly desirable replicas of vintage Gibson and Fender guitars from the '50s and '60s.

This guitar is variation on the Les Paul Junior. Juniors were, and still are, made from mahogany; they do not have the maple tops that characterize their cousins, the higher-end regular Les Pauls. The maple adds brightness to guitar as the wood is harder and more reflective of higher frequencies. But this Junior does have a fine maple top with a beautiful flame that is covered with a thin clear nitrocellulose finish - check out the many highly-detailed pictures. Other than the maple top, the construction of this instrument adheres to the original specifications of the Gibson Les Paul Juniors. It has a single Florance Voodoo P90 (see Peter's website here for more information) along with a single tone and volume control. The P90 is hand wound to vintage specification, it has great sustain, a chunky bottom, that ghostly top-end and sounds incredible with a class A amp. The guitar has had some light use but it has been in the Ludlow family since it was built in the late '90s.

This is a fine, hand-built instrument for less than the price of a factory guitar.
