Hagstrom® II 1965, Sunburst - Sold

This is an affordable all-original Hagstrom from the '60s. It has a Jag/Jazz style tremolo unit and Hagstrom's own version single coil pickups with a unique switching system: a single volume control, a mute switch (which cunningly is really a high cut tone switch) a tone switch (which really is a tone switch and offers a variation on the mute switch but does something quite similar) and then two switches that engage the pickups (so you can have them both off) plus an on/off switch on the top of the body (which does not seem to do anything). The guitar is in great shape and fine working condition. There are a few minor dings that are only visible on close inspection but the finish generally is very clean. With its thinner body and single coil pickups this guitar hangs on the treble side of twangy. The neck is very thin and the action is low.

There is plenty of character in this Swedish built instrument that is selling for little more than some Korean instruments go for these days. But this one will hold its value and the sound will stand out from the crowd. Stop by and try it out.
