IdealĀ® Falcon Copy 1960s, White - Sold

The Japanese company Ideal made a number of different Gretsch equivalents in the early 1960s. This one is modelled, none too closely, on the classic White Falcon. It is a true 'F' hole hollowbody with the same basic outline as the Falcon but, other than the fact that this is white, the similarity ends there. Still, it is an interesting vintage piece from the early 1960s.

This guitar has the typical flavor of a '60s Japanese import. The pickups have a clear, open, single-coil ring but you will not mistake this guitar for a Fender, or a Gretsch for that matter; It has its own sound. With the larger hollowbody this guitar has a little more depth than you might get from other Japanese guitars from this period.
