Framus

Innovation, readiness to take risk, innumerable technical advancements, the usage of the most modern technology and of course a high degree of diligence and commitment of all Framus employees created products over years, which today have found their admirers all over the world and are a paragon for other manufacturers.
The quality, the base and the "heart" of each guitar is found in the carefully selected tone woods. Thus, it is Framus" highest priority to treat this limited resource in a careful and conscientious way. Woods like flamed maple, mountain maple, mahogany are directly imported from Europe, Africa and the US. None of these woods, crafted by Framus, is sourced from endangered wood-growing areas, but only from controlled forested and deforested regions of this world.
Wood is a living resource which can only be processed to a high-class tone wood by a specialized treatment. Therefore Framus stores their wood in open-air halls for years. Subsequently the humidity level needs to be dried down very carefully and slowly using computer-controlled systems. After completion of the drying process, the wood is stored for several months in special climatic chambers for further curing. The actual processing of the wood and the instrument up to its completion and shipment is done in specific, controlled and air-conditioned production.
Hardly any other manufacturer develops and produces instruments with the same attention to detail. The most modern computer-controlled machines in cooperation with instrument manufacturing specialists enable a precise operation and assure an absolutely constant high-level of quality. Through the use of PLEK technology every Framus guitar receives a perfect factory setup. Precise measuring techniques scan the neck on 132 measuring points (22 frets), basically every possible playing position on a guitar. The measurement is done with an exactly calculated pressure that simulates string tension, and the necessary neck relief is taken into account during this procedure. The dressing process does not take place as usual where all frets are leveled in one go; with the Plek procedure every necessary fret correction is sanded individually according to the measurements. The fret's crown is pre-served even after the dressing process. The end result is a perfectly leveled fret plane, defined string action and optimal playing comfort. The final product - the finished instrument - is the result of a perfect interaction of design, tone woods, finish and electronics, especially developed for Framus by MEC.
Framus designs are classics already today. Custom models with unusual wood-, pickup- and color-variations, as well as different finishes, make the heart-beat of each guitarist all over the world go higher.
