Gretsch® Basses

Gretsch guitars and basses used to be made just across the river from the store in the Gretsch building, still clearly visible as you cross the Williamsburg Bridge. Back in the '50s and '60s, Gretsches were the principal instruments of such stars as George Harrison, Chet Atkins, Bo Diddley and, more recently, Brian Setzer.  The company was sold in the late '60s and the Gretsch brand foundered for a number of years until Fender purchased the business and got it going again. Now these handsome instruments are being made every bit as well as when the original Gretsch family was running the show. We have a few of these instruments in stock. This web page is not yet complete but come into the store to try them out and go to the Gretsch website for further background.
