Ampeg® Amplifiers

Classic innovators in the world of bass and guitar amplification, Ampeg continues to produce outstanding combos, heads, and cabs with that legendary Ampeg tone. Take a look at our stock below, visit the Ampeg website or stop by our shop to play them for yourself.

We also usually have a few vintage Ampeg models in the shop. It is no secret that the original hand-wired amps from the late '50s and '60s are a cool and less expensive alternative to vintage guitar amps made by major brands like Fender and Marshall.

In general, Ampeg guitar amps made through until the mid ‘60s are sought out as they have a dark, moody sound and remain clean until pushed hard. The Reverberocket is renowned but there are a number of other Ampeg models that sound just as good that don’t have the rep.; there may not have been a better low-powered 1 x 12” amp than the Jet. Ampeg’s bass amps are in demand no matter when they were made from the 1940's up until about 1979; the SVTs are legendary and the ‘fliptop’ portaflex series provided the sound of Motown’s “Funk Machine” session bassist, the infamous James Jamerson.
